How many CEUs can I earn? 
You can earn 12 AFAA CEUs (1.2 NASM CEUs) with the AFAA G.E.A.R. Indoor Cycling Instructor Certification.
How soon can I start?
You can start anytime! The program is self-paced and administered 100% online, including the final exam.
Can I do this program while working full-time?
Yes, you can complete the G.E.A.R. Indoor Cycling Instructor Certification while also working full-time. The study material is 100% online and can be accessed on a computer, or a mobile device such as a phone or tablet. You have one year to take the final exam, however, most students are able to complete the program in as little as 8 weeks studying about 8 to 10 hours per week.
How is the final exam administered?
The final exam is administered online. It is all multiple-choice questions and can be taken on your personal computer or mobile device, upon completion of the course content. You have 3 attempts to pass the final exam. There is a $99 retest fee for any additional attempts.
How much time is required to complete this program?
The program is completely self-paced. You have one year to take the final exam from the date of purchase. However, many students are able to complete the program in as little as 8 weeks, studying about 8 to 10 hours per week. Exact times will vary though depending on the student, your prior experience and dedication to the material.
Is this certification accredited?
The G.E.A.R. Indoor Cycling Certification is not accredited by a third-party organization. The exam is taken online from your home computer rather than at a testing facility, eliminating the inconvenience of locating a facility and scheduling an appointment.
What is the Indoor Cycling Instructor renewal process?
To maintain the certification, you must submit 15 continuing education units, a renewal application and fees every 2 years.
Will I get a certificate mailed to me?
Once you successfully pass your exam, a digital copy of your certificate will become available to you within 24 hours, but in most cases immediately. Within 4-6 weeks, a hardcopy certificate will be mailed to the address you have on your AFAA or NASM account (Domestic U.S. addresses only).
